Getting Started

The SVG Converter tool transforms your raster images into scalable vector graphics. Unlike pixel-based images, SVG files remain crisp at any size, making them ideal for logos, icons, illustrations, and responsive designs.

Quick Start Steps:

  1. Upload an image by dragging and dropping or clicking the upload area
  2. Adjust conversion options (detail level, color mode, smoothing)
  3. Click "Convert to SVG" to process your image
  4. Preview the result side-by-side with the original
  5. Download the SVG or copy the code to clipboard

Tip: For best results, use high-contrast images with clear edges. Complex photographs may not convert as cleanly as simple graphics.

Uploading Images

The tool supports multiple methods for uploading your images, making it easy to get started regardless of your preference.

Supported Methods:

Drag & Drop

Simply drag your image file from your computer and drop it onto the upload area. The dashed border will highlight when you're dragging a valid file.

File Picker

Click anywhere on the upload area to open your file browser and select an image manually.

Supported Formats:

PNG
JPEG
JPG
WebP

Note: Maximum file size is 10MB. For optimal conversion results, use images with clear edges and good contrast.

Conversion Options

Fine-tune your conversion with these powerful options to get the perfect SVG output.

Detail Level (0-100%)

Controls how much detail is preserved during vectorization. Higher values capture more intricate details but may increase file size.

Low (0-33%)

Simplified paths, smaller files, best for icons and simple shapes

Medium (34-66%)

Balanced detail and size, good for most graphics

High (67-100%)

Maximum detail, larger files, best for complex illustrations

Color Mode

Choose how colors are handled in the output SVG.

Full Color

Preserves all colors from the original image. Best for photographs and colorful graphics.

Simplified Palette

Reduces colors to a simplified palette. Good for graphics with limited colors and smaller file sizes.

Monochrome

Converts to single-color (black) output. Perfect for icons, logos, and line art.

Edge Smoothing (0-100%)

Controls the amount of smoothing applied to edges. Higher values create smoother, more rounded edges, while lower values preserve sharp edges.

Low Smoothing (0-33%)

Preserves sharp edges, best for pixel art and technical drawings

High Smoothing (67-100%)

Creates smooth, organic curves, ideal for logos and illustrations

Preview & Compare

After conversion, you can preview and compare your SVG with the original image using the interactive preview panel.

View Modes:

Side by Side

View original and converted images side by side for easy comparison. Both panels can be zoomed independently.

Toggle View

Switch between original and SVG views with a single click. Useful for focused examination of the converted result.

Zoom Controls:

Zoom In/Out

Use zoom buttons or keyboard shortcuts to zoom from 50% to 200%

Fit to Screen

Reset zoom to 100% with the maximize button

Pan & Navigate

Click and drag to pan around zoomed images

Memory Warning

Free memory button appears when memory usage is high

Export Options

Once your image is converted, you can export it in multiple ways.

Download SVG

Download the converted SVG file to your computer. The filename will be based on the original file name with a "-compressed" suffix if compression is enabled.

Copy SVG Code

Copy the SVG code directly to your clipboard. This is useful for pasting into code editors, HTML files, or design tools.

Code Preview

A live preview of the SVG code is displayed, showing the optimized output. You can see the structure and verify the conversion before downloading.

SVG Compression

Enable SVG compression to reduce file size while maintaining quality. The tool offers multiple optimization options.

Compression Options:

Number Precision

Controls decimal places for coordinate values. Lower precision = smaller files. Range: 0-4 decimal places.

Remove Comments

Strips XML comments from the SVG output for cleaner code.

Remove Metadata

Removes XML metadata tags that may contain editor information.

Optimize Colors

Minifies color values (e.g., #ffffff → #fff) for smaller file size.

Result: After compression, you will see a summary showing original size, compressed size, and the percentage reduction achieved.

Common Use Cases

Logo Design

Convert logos to SVG for infinite scalability. Use monochrome mode for single-color logos and full color for full-color brand marks.

Icon Systems

Create resolution-independent icons for web and mobile apps. Use low detail level and monochrome mode for clean, lightweight icon sets.

Illustrations

Convert hand-drawn or digital illustrations to vector format. Use high detail level and full color mode for complex artwork.

Infographics

Transform chart screenshots and diagrams into editable vectors. Use medium detail level and simplified palette for clean results.

Print Materials

Prepare graphics for large format printing. SVG ensures crisp output at any size without pixelation.

Responsive Design

Use SVG for responsive graphics that scale perfectly across all screen sizes and device resolutions.
